BestStart Botany Road welcomes you and your whanau to come and take a look around our award-winning daycare centre. Located in the heart of Botany. We have ample car-parking which provides for an easy drop-off and pick-up of your little one. We offer great opportunities to assist in the enhancement and development of learning to each child, helping them to grow into a confident learner.

At BestStart Botany Road, we have a passionate, committed, and dedicated team, who strive to provide the best quality of care and education to tamariki aged from 3 months up until they go to school. We have four spacious and age-appropriate classrooms and expansive play spaces including our shared playspace between our junior and senior preschool rooms, which are designed to meet the individual needs of tamariki while providing them a safe and stimulating environment to explore and build their independence and self-confidence.

We have large playground areas with large natural trees which provide additional shelter from the hot sun in the warmer months and also allow the warmth to enter in the cooler months. These beautiful trees allow our tamariki to explore nature so much more with their ever-changing life cycle and their natural beauty.

At BestStart Botany Road, our teaching programme is based upon Te Whariki (NZ Curriculum) which is incorporated in all classrooms across the centre. Tamariki and Kaiako relationships are built from our babies & infants’ room, right through to our preschool rooms. Rooms are interactive and allow active exploration where tamariki form strong bonds and trust with their Kaiako.

Age-appropriate learning opportunities and interactive and responsive communication are provided to help introduce and support growth and development within individual tamariki, allowing children to develop areas like communication; self-independence; gross fine motor skills and so much more, we encourage children to learn through free-play, ultimately allowing them to learn at their own pace.

In our senior preschool, we offer the Be School Ready programme, which helps children to become ready for school, this initiative is designed and introduced in all rooms to support children and to help them become confident and capable within their learning. This also prepared them ready for their next step in their education journey.

BestStart Botany Road is a multi-cultural centre, we continue to engage with whanau, to support them and to include them within our centre-life, embracing their cultures, beliefs, and to celebrate with them on their achievements and days of celebration. We endeavour to form respectful relationships with all our whanau, connecting and embracing each other, developing strong bonds and trust, ensuring that this is their safe place, and a safe environment for all.

BestStart provide a Hauora (Health) programme which promotes healthy and happy bodies and minds, inclusive of physical activity and healthy and well-balanced meals provided across the day. Our centre follows the Healthy Heart programme and currently holds a Silver Award for this. The Healthy Heart programmes mean that our centre is providing our tamariki with a nutritious and well-balanced meal across the day to meet the Healthy Heart standards.

At BestStart Botany Road, we offer 20 free ECE hours for children 3 years and over, great teacher ratios and quality care and education. We can even support you to see if you may be eligible for the Childcare Subsidy, which if eligible can help to reduce your childcare fees more.

Such caring and lovely people here, have 2 attending currently and the staff made the transition so easy, if you have a child that glues to you or a homebody, they help support you and the child. In no time, my child would run and wave bye to me and that's made me comfortable knowing he's happy there.

After looking at many daycares in the area, and having to pull my girls out of one that was awful, I was so happy to finally come across BestStart on Botany Road. They have been great right from the start, lovely teachers and competent administration. Very good at communicating with parents and always running fun activities and events for the children.
