Your child’s care and education matter to us!   We invite and welcome you to come for a visit so you can gain a real sense of the authentic love, care and education we provide for our tamariki.  Our door is always open to parents, whanau, support services and the wider community.

So that your tamariki are ready for school when the time comes, our friendly, caring and passionate teaching team help them to develop social competence and independence.  We encourage learning through play and inspire inquiring minds so your tamariki gain the skills to become lifelong learners.

Our centre is designed for your busy little explorer.  They’ll have fun while learning and making choices about the resources they want to use both indoors and outdoors play both of which are safe and easily accessible.

You can choose if you would like your child in a morning or afternoon session or to stay all-day!  (space permitting). Wednesday is our short day, finishing at 2.15pm.

Our programme offers:

  • Transition to school visits for 4-year olds
  • Be School Ready initiatives including literacy and numeracy
  • A participation van (conditions apply)
  • Kids on Bikes monthly visits
  • Annual participation in the Ngati Tuwharetoa Taiopenga Kapa Haka Festival
  • Vegetable garden to support healthy eating awareness
  • Imoko health information and support

We also provide morning and afternoon teas that are nutritious, age appropriate and guided by the Ministry of Health and Heart Foundation guidelines. We encourage you to do the same when providing your child with a lunch box.

We value parent and whanau involvement and contributions to centre life.  Your voice and aspirations will be heard and help us to ensure your child achieves their individual learning goals.  Our intentional teaching strategies will support your child’s growth and development.  Our planning and assessment will be shared with you on Story Park, in children’s individual portfolios and kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face).

Our bi-cultural practices are authentic, and our qualified and experienced teachers are able to weave aspects of Te Ao Maori throughout our programme.  Nau mai, haere mai!

kind words from our parents

Parent

Children enjoy playing, learning and making friends in a calm, welcoming and well-resourced learning environment. They demonstrate a strong sense of belonging and whanaungatanga….ERO observed many examples of children collaborating, conversing and relating positively to one another….Adult interactions with children are respectful, nurturing and caring. Teachers know children and their families well. They implement highly effective strategies in response to individual children’s strengths, needs and learning dispositions.
