Our Vision - Together we learn, grow and lead

Superior Childcare - We appreciate that selecting the right early years environment can be a daunting task and are delighted that you are exploring the possibility of joining us at EduKids Taradale. When you visit us we know you will find it a refreshing experience. The Taradale Hills and Sugar Loaf provide a beautiful backdrop to EduKids Taradale, which is conveniently nestled between Napier and Hastings providing outstanding childcare for Hawke’s Bay families for 12 years. We are located near EIT Tairāwhiti in Gloucester Street.Bledisloe, Greenmeadows, Taradale, Arthur Millar and Reignier Primary Schools are situated close by for easy transition to school. The centre is based in two spacious houses which stand side by side and are situated on full sections with impressive, large, spacious outdoor play areas.

Infant/Toddler Key Teachers - We're a destination centre for those parents looking for a place that feels like home. Fresh baking and yummy cooking smells drift from the kitchen through the rooms as our cook prepares meals and healthy snacks for the children. When it’s time to rest, we have spacious sleep rooms with fresh bedding and that favourite blanket, or toy from home. Babies and toddlers are offered rich sensory spaces that provide for safe exploration and active whole-body learning. When babies have familiar objects around them, their security and wellbeing is nurtured making transition a peaceful time. Teachers live a philosophy of respectful practice where your baby can play and explore at an unhurried pace and be given freedom to develop in their own time. You'll meet teachers who are mature and sensitive to the needs of both family and children. Your child’s key teacher is there for your child throughout the day, offering support and guidance during care moments and teaching opportunities. Your key teacher is always there to listen making sure all the significant and magic moments about your child’s day is passed on to you.

Learning for Life - When children turn four they begin BestStart’s Be School Ready initiative. Cutting edge teaching styles support children to be resilient, resourceful, creative problem solvers, who can work alone and in teams to achieve their goals. These children enjoy challenging, edgy learning and are continually stretching their brains, their skills and their dispositions.

Creating special places for special people - The quality of the learning environment is very important to us. When children find themselves in environments that are beautiful, soothing, full of wonder and discovery, they feel intrigued, respected and eager to spend their days here. Influenced by a Reggio Emilia approach and Pikler, natural materials, soft furnishings and calming colours are found throughout. Plants, soft lighting and quiet background music, along with a lovely natural environment, all help to create a homely, nurturing atmosphere. We have won awards for our child friendly gardens. Children play in and out of plants, bridges, butterflies and trees  They learn about worm farms, gardening, chickens, eggs, recycling and nature.

kind words from our parents

To the awesome team at Edukids, You guys have been amazing for the short time Ani has been here and we are truly grateful for all that you have done. Ani has thoroughly enjoyed her time here and we are all really sad to be leaving. Centres like BestStart Taradale are sooo hard to come by so keep doing what you are doing

I can’t fault the centre on anything. My son thinks every time we leave the house we are going to daycare, and he gets so excited. He has learnt so much, and is provided with everything he needs to develop and grow. Have already (successfully) recommended the centre and wouldn’t hesitate to do the same again. My future children will also most definitely be attending. Nothing but positives!

Over the years with our children we have been involved with 3 child care centres and two homebase child care services. EduKids far out weighs all of them. My child will stay at EduKids until school starts despite local kindys being cheaper/free for more hours. I’m happy to pay more! EduKids Taradale is that good!

This is the first experience I’ve had with a day care centre. In my experience they have gone beyond and above of what is expected. The teachers are wonderful and easy to talk to about things that are not related to the child attending but also about the child. I feel very at ease and I can always feel comfortable talking about life issues and get a good laugh. I can’t say enough really and when my child starts school we will definitely still be popping in to say hi. They make my child feel special and make me feel as though I am doing a good job when on days I am tired and think I’m not. This is one appreciative nana
