We went on a big adventure to the grass area by the water tower. We are very lucky to have this space so close to our centre and we are making use of it by going there every 2 weeks. On this trip, we played "duck, duck, goose" and ran up and down the hill. We also practiced our jumping skills and also found some amazing pinecone treasures to bring back.

There was a lot of excitement as we left the centre and we had many talks and discussions about what we had done all afternoon. Just being out in the fresh air gives you a different sense of adventure and we could see that the children just loved being outdoors. Next time, we will have to bring some balls so we can practice our ball skills as there is a lot more space to move around compared to being back at the centre.

The children are getting very familiar with walking to and from this space, knowing when to wait for cars, looking and hearing them coming, and crossing the road when it is safe. This is an important skill to have, supporting our children's pathways to kura. We are very excited to revisit this learning and go on another adventure!
