We started our adventure off with a walk to the bus stop and we waited patiently for the bus number 7!

The bus took us into town and there was so much to see!

We talked a lot about the construction vehicles we saw at all the building sites. As this was their last group learning topic, the tamariki were very interested in these and were able to name them all.

After a big walk, we made it to the museum and despite some tired legs, the tamariki were excitied to get up the stairs to see the dinosaurs! There was so much to see and take in, that we had to do two laps around to soak it all in.

One of our biggest conversations was about the different sized dinosaurs, some were smaller then us and some were much bigger then us (even taller then the teachers as the children pointed out). We talked about the different bones and fossilized eggs we saw as well as that most of the dinosaurs bones at our museum came from the region now known as China! We got to go on a Dino dig in the paleontology excavation pits they had set up and we found some fossils!

After we looked at the dinos, we looked at some of the other cool things the museum had and our favourite was the artic animals and the bug draws! After we finish at the museum, we stopped for a picnic in the square on our walk back to the bus stops.

The children were very excited that they could see a crane working on a building and people up high on the scaffolding! The tamariki were all very tired after our busy morning with lots of learning and exploring in our community!
