At BestStart Maui Hihi Nursery, every day is filled with playful learning experiences for our under-twos. Our teachers create a warm, caring environment where curiosity and play come together to support each child’s growth and development.
One of our recent favourite activities has been bathing baby dolls on sunny days. Tamariki delight in splashing in soapy water and using small cloths to gently wash their dolls, just as they may see at home. This experience supports sensory exploration while nurturing kindness, empathy, and caring for others.
We have also been busy creating a beautiful piece of group artwork. Using primary colour paints and large brushes, the children explored colours, mixed shades, and expressed their creativity together. Working side by side encouraged teamwork and shared enjoyment.
Activities like these support the development of fine motor skills and early writing readiness, while also fostering cooperation and friendships. There is always something engaging happening in our nursery, where learning is guided by play.
