Our tamariki recently enjoyed their very first visit to our local school, marking an exciting milestone in their transition to school journey.

On a beautiful, sunny morning, the children walked to the school together, practising important road safety skills along the way. They demonstrated confidence, responsibility and enthusiasm as they experienced what it is like to travel safely within their local community.

Once at the school, the children participated in an engaging literacy session where they explored new learning in a classroom environment. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, focus and willingness to participate as they embraced this new experience with confidence.

After the learning session, the children enjoyed morning tea and had fun exploring the playground, giving them the opportunity to become familiar with the school environment and build positive connections.

These school visits are an important part of our Set for School programme, supporting children to develop confidence, independence and a sense of belonging as they prepare for the next stage of their learning journey.

We are grateful for the warm welcome and ongoing partnership with our local school. We look forward to many more visits that will continue to strengthen our children's confidence and help create a positive transition to school.
