Our tamariki in the Kowhai Room recently enjoyed a fun and engaging outdoor water play experience, using brushes and water to “paint” on the concrete outside.
Through imaginative play, children explored their creativity by painting letters, numbers, and pictures, strengthening early literacy and numeracy skills in a playful way.
This experience also became a wonderful science discovery as tamariki observed how the water quickly evaporated on the concrete, encouraging curiosity and questioning. This simple but meaningful activity supported imagination, learning, and exploration while making the most of our outdoor environment.
