Pink Shirt Day 2026!

Everyone looked beautiful and handsome in pink as the Kindy came together to show support for Pink Shirt Day.

The tamariki in Ruma Kikorangi engaged in mahi toi and messy play using pink paint and cornflour.

During Bubble Play, tamariki were encouraged, as always, to use kind words and gentle, sharing hands with their friends.

Nursery kaiako also wrote the words “Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora” on our wall to support the movement, and our tamariki enjoyed helping to decorate it too! Through these experiences, we were able to encourage kindness, inclusion, friendship, and respect within our learning environment.

It was lovely to see our tamariki learning the importance of caring for others and helping everyone feel safe, valued, and included at Kindy.
