As part of our “Set for School” programme, our tamariki had the exciting opportunity to visit Te Kura Rau-iti on Friday 8 May. The visit provided a meaningful introduction to primary school life and supported children in building confidence and familiarity with a new learning environment.

Throughout the visit, tamariki enthusiastically explored different areas of the school, including the library, classrooms, and creative art room. They showed great curiosity, engagement, and confidence as they interacted with the environment and asked thoughtful questions along the way.

The Deputy Principal warmly welcomed the group and created a positive and inclusive atmosphere for everyone. She shared engaging stories during mat time and guided the tamariki around the school, introducing them to the various learning spaces and routines within the school environment.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to spend time in the indoor basketball court, where tamariki enjoyed active play and teamwork. They also had great fun exploring the playground and interacting with peers in the outdoor spaces.

Overall, the school visit was a valuable and enjoyable experience that helped our tamariki feel more prepared, confident, and excited about their upcoming transition to primary school.
