Our tamariki at Best Start Milson Line had loads of fun celebrating Teddy Bear Day!
The children enjoyed designing their own paper teddy bears, using their creativity and imagination as they chose colours, added details and created their own unique designs.
This experience supported the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and confidence in expressing their own ideas. Our teddy bear picnic was another wonderful opportunity for learning. The tamariki proudly brought along their favourite bears and enjoyed sharing this special experience with their friends.
Through talking about their bears, listening to one another and taking part in the picnic together, the children were strengthening their communication skills, building friendships and developing a sense of belonging within our learning community. We also sang teddy bear-themed songs and shared teddy bear stories together.
Singing encouraged the children to listen, remember words and actions, participate as a group and explore rhythm and language. Story time supported their early literacy development as they listened, talked about what was happening and used their imaginations.
It was a lovely day filled with creativity, laughter and shared experiences, with lots of opportunities for our tamariki to learn through play, music, stories and time spent together.
