Yellow Daffodil Day

On friday 29 August, our centre bloomed with sunshine as we celebrated Daffodil Day!

It was a very special occasion dedicated to supporting the Cancer Society and spreading hope.

The theme? Yellow, yellow, and more yellow!

From the moment our tamariki stepped through the doors, the atmosphere was glowing. Dressed in bright yellow outfits, they were greeted by daffodil decorations, golden balloons, and a cheerful coin jar where each child added their gold coin donation—learning about generosity and community spirit along the way.

We explored real daffodils in a vase, noticing their vibrant petals and unique shapes. Some children had never seen one before, sparking curiosity and conversation. “Can we make our own daffodils?” one child asked—and just like that, our art tables transformed into a flurry of yellow and orange paint, collage materials, and busy hands crafting paper flowers.

day wasn’t just about colour—it was about connection, compassion, and contribution. Through play, creativity, and community, our tamariki learned that even the smallest hands can help grow hope, fostering compassion and empowering children to understand the value of helping others and building a caring community.

A wonderful and beautiful day shared with our Whanau, tamariki and Kaiako
