BestStart Ngatai Road is a top rated childcare centre in Otumoetai convenient to the Tauranga CBD. We're open 7.30am to 5.30pm all year round and care for children from 0 to 6 years old in our beautifully designed building on a huge property.

At BestStart Ngatai Road our wonderful teachers respect and celebrate each child’s culture and individuality. This recognition leads to a sense of belonging, where children grow to be confident learners who know they have a voice and a part to play in their learning journey.

Like our children, our teachers come from diverse cultural backgrounds, all bringing something special to centre life. This promotes a deeper understanding about the wider world and the uniqueness of everyone in it. Together we've created a rich learning environment where languages, rituals and symbols of children’s cultures are celebrated.

We embrace the learning needs of all children, with programmes and environments that nurture children through all stages of their development. Teachers recognise and respond to each child’s individual learning and development needs and work closely with our families, embracing their aspirations and values.

We have a wonderful cook on site who prepares delicious and nutritious food for our children. We have Gold Healthy Heart Award and have many opportunities for children to be active and learn about being healthy.

Our centre has two learning rooms to best cater for our children as they grow and develop.

Tui Room

Our Tui Room welcomes children aged from 3 months to 2 ½ years old. We have a lovely calm indoor environment that flows outside to a space where children have a chance to explore their surroundings.

Titoki Room

Our Titoki Room is for children aged from 2 years until they leave for school. We have a fantastic spacious environment with plenty of room for our children to explore and learn.

TopKids Ngatai Road has been part of our family for 6 years since our oldest was 1. We have our 2 boys there currently and they love it! The team constantly provide a nurturing and caring environment. As parents, seeing our children so happy, confident and comfortable when we leave is so reassuring.

I have two children currently attending, my son is 4 and my daughter is just about to turn 1. My son has been enrolled since he was 10 months old and enjoys it so much he often asks if he can go on the weekend! My daughter settled in really easily when she started, mainly due to the great effort, friendliness and all round awesomeness of the staff. When exciting things happen, lots of photos are taken by the staff and posted on Storypark. This means so much to me and my Husband as work and other commitments mean we would otherwise miss out on seeing our children take part in these activities. You truly have a great team of people working at TopKids, Ngatai Road and I really appreciate the time and effort they put in and the love they give out to my children.

I am still blown away by how accommodating the centre was when we first started. Nothing was a problem and staff worked around our daughter’s routine. I really like how personalised the care is. I feel like each child is made to feel special.

We have been part of the centre for the last 8 years and our youngest is about to start school, so our day-care days are nearly over. We have always felt like part of a family with this centre. We have seen a lot of changes over the years, but this is the most settled and happy we have felt before. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and our child is very relaxed and comfortable being here.
