Te Whakakaka and Te Tutika rooms have started two vegetable patches at the end of the property, they worked together to put the planter beds together from kit sets then did the hard work of filling with soil. Once the soil was already, they brought down the plants they had grown from seeds in milk bottles to transplant into their new home.

As a centre we want to make connections to Papatūānuku by providing an environment where the tamariki can explore the wider world. Through gardening we are able to offer experiences where tamariki can care for the living world and make connections of where food comes from.

We can't wait to see where the garden takes us next...Maybe Chickens next?
