All the BestStart got together to celebrate Plunket and support to raise funds to contribute and appreciate the services Plunket provides to families in Aotearoa New Zealand. At BestStart Kauri Flats Kaiako, Whānau, and tamariki working in partnership engaged in activities to raise funds towards a good cause. Throughout the week our tamariki enjoyed lots of blue theme meaningful learning experiences.

Kaiako engaged tamariki in baking yummy cupcakes that supported our tamariki to follow instructions, understand recipes, and mathematical concepts of measurements, and gain an understanding of the mixing and baking process.

We also made playdough for sale. Tamariki enjoyed water play activities, the blue gloop experience, and face paint. These activities support tamariki to enhance their creativity and imagination and develop Tuakana-teina, discovering and developing different ways to be creative and expressive and gaining confidence and control of their body, especially in the fine movements associated with using resources. Shikha, our amazing cook, also made yummy cupcakes for our children in afternoon tea.

Whānau Āwhina Plunket, Aotearoa New Zealand's largest support service for the health and wellbeing of tamariki under-five and their whānau. We had an amazing plunket week. Here are some snapshots of the week…
