At BestStart Harrison, the tamariki in our preschool room have been showing a great interest in gardening over the last couple of months. It has been a fantastic time to teach them about healthy eating and what plants need to grow, and in turn, what types of foods our bodies need to stay healthy. Our tamariki have been working hard everyday to ensure they feed our plants with water and that the weeds are picked from the garden.

The children picked some ripe tomatoes and cucumbers and we used these yummy vegetables to make a fresh salad. We have already harvested lots of zucchinis and made them into fritters and slices. We also have fresh plums and raspberries ready for picking!
