December is such a busy month for us, we have our tamariki Christmas party and many activities happening throughout the centre.

Every room takes on art and craft projects as the tamariki make gifts for our whānau to take home. This year the Pūrerehua tamariki painted pots that came with soil and seeds to plant, this follows on from our planting project. The Tongrerewa room created clay decorations, and paintings. The Fetuao room made clay decorations as well as baking and art.

For our tamariki Christmas party, usually, we celebrate with all our whanau, but this year we had to do this in a different way due to COVID, we could not have that many people gathering in centre. To make this time magical for our tamariki we had Nigel Kennedy with Funny Bunny come in and do some magic! Both tamariki and kaiako loved seeing them, it was lots of fun for everyone!

The following day the Pūrerehua tamariki had the Red Cross come in and talk about staying safe and what do we do in an emergency. The tamariki enjoyed this session and got to try on some of the items that keep our emergency services safe.
