Here at BestStart South Road we are fond supporters of Plunket. This year we held a shared kai and Slime the Centre Manager evening to raise funds for the Plunket appeal. 

We are always overwhelmed with the turnout! Children donated ‘paid’ $2 into the Plunket bucket for a cup of slime and slimed me, the Centre Manager. We had over $100 in no time, total to be confirmed. 

This was such a fun evening, teachers were able to talk to parents and extended whaanau about children’s aspirations, and the opportunity to invite families to contribute to our centre curriculum and our centre events, sharing their ideas about what we could do next or what they might like to be involved in, incorporating whaanau strengths in our events would be amazing! 

We have so many talented people within our centre community. Thank you also to our Plunket representative for dressing up as ‘blue bear’ and taking part in our evening.
