A December Celebration
During the month of December we decided to celebrate large at BestStart Coast Boulevard. For the entire month teachers worse Christmas shirts and dress ups, we had the entire reception and hallway decorated and we created a fun Christmas Holiday Programme. Our Christmas Holiday Programme had many wonderful things planned such as PJ and Christmas movie days, Christmas craft days and the always popular bike day. Some of our favourites on this programme was the day that Santa and his elf came to visit us, the walked around the centre, talked with all the children and handed our special Christmas cookies. Another favourite day was when we had the bouncy castles come! The babies got to have their very own bouncy castle, and the older children got to have their own water slide bouncy castle. The children came with their togs and a towel and spent almost the entire day slippin’ and slidin’ out in the playground. I can’t think of anything more perfect for this hot weather we are having.
A special mention is to our wonderful Kaiako Angela who created a beautiful breakfast treat for all our early birds one morning. When our doors opened at 7:30 Angela was waiting with warm crepes, strawberries, caramel and maple sauce. Angela had wonderful music playing, and the table was decorated in a Christmas theme, the look of wonder on the children’s faces as they walked in the door was just magical! It’s moments like this that make the children’s day here precious and memorable. Thank you Angela!
