A Fabulous Makeover
The tamariki and kaiako arrived on Thursday morning to some artificial turf, underlay, bedding sand, a digger and the team from Fastgrass at our centre. The children and tamariki eagerly watched the team at Fastgrass move the heavy equipment and then make light work of firstly pulling up our old worn artificial turf in the preschool outdoor play space.
The children had various conversations with the kaiako and each other about some of the equipment they were using such as ‘They have a sharp knife’, ‘are they putting it back?’ and my favourite question ‘are they making a swimming pool?’ The team from Fastgrass completed one section of the outdoor play space before moving onto the next outdoor environment. When we came back from the weekend – voila new grass with a fabulous feeling underfoot!
