Planning for Diwali had been underway a few weeks and conversations with our families were exciting. Our families decided to organise this event and prepare the day for us along with our centre relivere Renuka.   Renuka had decided to make onion bhaaji with the children. This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn how to make food from a different culture, they also took part in a prayer ceremony and dancing.

It was a wonderful day as our parents and reliever Renuka had planned the whole event, from bringing in Indian food from their restaurant, organising a dancer and following their customs or prayer and meditation. We have been researching and learning about Indian culture and what Diwali and it was nice to speak with our parents and celebrate their culture here at the centre.

One of our highlights was a lady who came and danced she was amazing, she taught the children some of her moves which is like Zumba, the children and teachers got up and danced to the music and it really made the day very happy and exciting.
