We had a very special morning at BestStart Papamoa Plaza celebrating Matariki. We shared kai, and whanau brought in some special treats for us and then we did some fun activities.

Matariki is about sharing and caring – receiving and giving – it's about whanau time – sharing kai, waiata and stories but most of all it' about being together.

We planted some herbs in little pots to grow at home, we made kites for Tawhirimatea to dance with, we made Matariki star shaped cookies and decorated them with sparkles for our afternoon tea!

We also had stories and finished the morning off with a kanikani and a waiata.
