Matariki is an important Whanau event on our yearly calendar. It’s a time to get together, reconnect and celebrate what’s been happening and what’s still to come. This year didn’t disappoint as we made a light trail for the families to explore, toasted marshmallows, put on a disco with glow sticks and we had photos in our very own Matariki photo booth.

Celebrating important occasions like Matariki supports the ‘belonging strand’ of Te Whariki.

Goal 1 - children and their families experience an environment where they can affirm and extend connecting links with the family and wider world.

Goal 2 - children and their families experience an environment where they feel comfortable with the routines, customs and regular events.
