At BestStart Rototuna, we believe in the power of connection through culture!

Our recent Cultural Night celebration was a beautiful reflection of this. Families, staff, and tamariki came together to share and experience the richness of our diverse backgrounds.

Our amazing team proudly shared their cultures and traditions with whānau, turning the evening into a vibrant showcase of stories, clothing, music, and customs from around the world. It was a heart-warming opportunity for children and families to learn more about each other in a fun and welcoming space.

A highlight of the night was the delicious spread of traditional foods. Everyone enjoyed tasting dishes from different cultures, lovingly prepared and shared with pride. Another unique experience was the Chinese tea station, where families got to observe traditional tea-making techniques and sample a variety of authentic teas. We enjoyed learning about different types of Chinese tea, including their unique flavours, health benefits and traditional preparation methods.

Events like Cultural Night strengthen the bonds between our centre and our community. It’s through these shared experiences that we build understanding, respect, and a sense of belonging for every child and their whānau. Thank you to all who joined us—you helped make the night truly special!
