BestStart is one of NZ's leading early childcare providers. BestStart Rototuna in Hamilton provides affordable, high quality education and award winning childcare for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

At Beststart Rototuna, we believe in learning through nature and wide open spaces! 

At BestStart Rototuna, we have an expansive and generous outdoor environment and we value the learning that can be done only in nature. By having open space where they are safe allows them to freely learn and explore. Being in nature is necessary for well-being and a generous outdoor space like ours can be calming and helpful when our tamariki are learning to understand their emotions.

Hidden at the end of a cul-de-sac you will find our outdoor oasis. We are deceiving from the street but when you come for a visit you will see just how generous our outdoor spaces are.

We encourage children to be guardians of nature and of their special learning place. We guide them in their curiosity and inquiry to help them have respect, understanding and appreciation of the natural world and its diversity. We believe that they can then apply what they learn about nature to many other contexts.

Our Team

We are a small but passionate team who are dedicated to the best for our tamariki. Regular professional development means we always have our fingers on the pulse for any new teachings to benefit children in our care.

Our Spaces

Each room is designed with the specific age group in mind all with access to their own expansive outdoor environment where children are blessed with ample space and freedom to explore. Our centre environment demonstrates our commitment to learning about the wider world and experiencing early literacy and mathematic concepts with a touch of nature.

I am Shanshan and Jason's mum. Today is Jason's last day. Although Jason is only staying in your daycare for about four months, he is so happy because of making a lot of friends during these times. The daycare provides some interesting activities and celebrates some special festivals for children such as water castle and Chinese New Year. Children really like enjoying these activities. At the same time, we have seen that each teacher is so kind and patient for children. the important is that teachers can communicate with us actively to talk about my son's situations even though we are not good at English skills. This point is very important to us. To be honest, Jason has moved three daycares, but your daycare is the best one. Therefore, Jason is willing to go to the daycare each day because each teacher and children bring happiness for him. We are so appreciative and it will be a very valuable memory for his childhood.

We could not be more happy with BestStart Rototuna. From day one we have been made to feel welcomed. The staff are highly communicative immensely helpful and informative. Our daughter I'd thriving in the center and is always excited to go make the most of the fabulous resources and outside play spaces. As parents, we love being kept updated with what's going on, and knowing our child is well cared for, with the most amazing teacher, admin staff and cook. We also love seeing activities on story park and being able to shear them with the grandparents is wonderful.

I highly recommend BestStart Rototuna. From the first time we visited there (a few months before our daughter was born) we have been made to feel welcome and part of the family. Our daughter attends ever day from early morning to late evening and cannot get enough of this place-it’s a struggle to get her to leave when I go to collect her each day. Teachers work closely with family to set development goals for the child and work tirelessly to make sure they are met, while continually keeping parents updated along the way via Storypark, parent meetings, etc. All staff go above and beyond to organise regular activities that are lots of fun and ensure all cultures and traditions are celebrated.

I just enrolled my 10 month old baby and the staff throughout the whole process from paperwork to induction days with my baby were so helpful to suit mine and my babies needs, I like the ratio of caregivers for the babies and toddlers so I know my child is well cared for.

It's the "Best Start" for kids in the town where I live, I can see how much my daughter leant over the past two years and now she is completely ready for her schooling. The staff are nice, approachable and have passion about what they do.
