There was plenty of excitement at BestStart Te Awamutu when members of our local Police team came to visit!
The tamariki were eager to learn about the important role police officers play in keeping our community safe and helping people when they need it.
During the visit, the officers shared some of the equipment they use every day and talked with the children about safety, kindness, and helping others.
The tamariki listened carefully as they learned about the different parts of a police uniform and had lots of thoughtful questions to ask. One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for the children to get hands-on and explore some of the police gear.
Many enjoyed trying on a police vest and seeing some of the equipment up close. These real-life experiences help bring learning to life, sparking curiosity and building children's understanding of the world around them.
At BestStart Te Awamutu, we value opportunities to connect with our wider community and introduce children to the people who help make our town a safe and welcoming place. Experiences like these support children's confidence, communication skills, and sense of belonging.
