A splash of colour
Playing, imagining, inventing and experimenting with colour! Even though we are surrounded by the beautiful colours of papatuanuku, sometimes a splash of colour draws our interest.
Tamariki at BestStart Whangamata are encouraged to take their time to explore within the environment. Making decisions and taking risks within a safe space helps develop resilience and the ability to try again. Each step they take is building on their knowledge - so even if they over fill the containers, its ok. They can try again to get it just how they want it.
The ability to develop a range of skills during play is endless. Estimating, measuring, pouring, pattern making, classifying, trial and error, cause and effect so success is achievable when you persist.
