A visit from the Fire Service!
We were lucky enough to have a visit from the fire service on Wednesday... a planned visit no fire of course! Jaime, Clem, Monique and Izzy were our firefighters and they showed us all the fire protective gear they wear when fighting fires to keep them safe. Then we got to go in the fire truck and have a look around which was a lot of fun, the truck is very high and has big steps to get up! Then Monique and Izzy got the fire hoses out and we got to have a turn at spraying the water!
It is always great to get a visit from the wider community, there were a few children that were a little unsure and that is understandable. Not all children went in the fire truck or did the hoses but it is good for them to see firefighters in their uniform and their fire fighting gear so they are not scared of them in an emergency. The team made it fun and engaging for the children and it was a lot of fun!
The children learn so much by engaging in the wider community making sense, of the world, and working theories around them.
