Acknowledging International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
Thursday 21st March was “International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination”. The Left Bank Restaurant and Café in Kaikohe commemorated and acknowledged this day and asked that we all join hands and work together to do what we can to eliminate this in our society.
The Left Bank also donated all their profits from the day to the fund for the Christchurch Muslim Community. We were asked if we would like to do something toward showing our thoughts and aroha for those effected by the recent tragic event in Christchurch.
Some of our tamariki had hand prints made and cut out to make a wreath to show “our hands joined with aroha for you”. A small group of our tamariki called in to the Left Bank on their way back from excursion to the Fire House Museum to drop the wreath off.
This will be sent to Christchurch by the Left Bank management.
