Animates adventure
The tamariki at BestStart St Leonards Kindy have an ongoing interest in sea creatures and the wider world we live in, so we decided to go on an excursion to the local pet store. Off we set, with some parent helpers on an adventure to explore what fish were in the store.
When we got to Animates there was great excitement as there were not only fish but also rabbits and kittens.
The team at Animates were awesome. They showed the children all sorts of fish, some that could live in the sea and others that were suitable to live in their homes. This prompted a discussion of who has a fish tank at home and who would like one.
The children also got to see rabbits, birds and kittens up close and learn about what it takes to care for our furry friends. This was a first experience for some our children and the delight on their faces was magical. We look forward to extending their learning experiences on our next adventure.
