At BestStart Tory Street, our tamariki were very excited to learn all about ANZAC day. We read many books to gather some knowledge about the day and watched some videos related to ANZAC.

We baked ANZAC cookies at the centre and tried them for morning tea. Drawing, colouring and making poppies was one of the favourite learning experiences that everyone enjoyed doing.

We made crosses thinking about the sacrifices that New Zealanders made for their country.

The War Memorial in Wellington is only a minute away from our centre, so we were went for a  walk and visited the War Memorial. We saw a lot of poppies, ANZAC pillars. We were watching how people were preparing the place for ANZAC day.
