As the seasons change
With the change of seasons, the children at BestStart Brooklyn have been exploring the world around them especially the natural changes in the environment. The cold, wet, sometimes windy days has caused the trees around us to lose their leaves. Many games of 'Leaf Fights' have been enjoyed by all. Exploring the centre carpark showed us different shaped leaves and the leaves were much bigger than the ones in our playground. Learning about the cycles of nature, the change of seasons; both science concepts and what is happening in our community has been explored through having a great time with the fallen leaves. Mathematical concepts such as the size and colour of the leaves, even how many points are on a leaf have been discussed. Working together is a large group to see what happens when you work together to push all the leaves into one big pile so you can make the most of leaf fights has been entertaining.
