During the months of March and April, our Preschool kaiako decided to make an aspiration wall in partnership with all tamariki. In line with our vision, only natural products were used: a flax stick from a flax bush, hemp and wooden beads. Our tamariki were part of the whole process in creating their own feather: from learning macrame, combing and cutting the feather, adding the beads and last but not least gluing their photo onto the feather.

All individual feathers have become part of our transition processes. When tamariki transition from Nursery to Preschool, they take their feather and when they graduate, the feather goes home with them. This has given our tamariki a real sense of ownership and pride!
