This can include helping with preparing meals, helping with the washing or choosing resources for us to enjoy. By engaging in such experiences the children develop a sense of ownership, belonging and pride in our centre. The know this is their place.

Today we worked together to bake some short bread to give to the special women in our lives to celebrate Mother’s Day.  Every child took part in the process and we are very excited for the big reveal at our community Mother’s Day morning tea on Friday.

Th children were very independent during this baking experience and required minimal support from the teachers. The more we bake with them the more confidence the children have in participating and we as teachers can really see the growth. The children are all aware of the expectations of washing their hands, taking turns, waiting, watching and communicating with each other throughout the process. We are really proud of them all!
