Be School Ready Skills
At BestStart Paraparaumu we weave Be School Ready skills through our everyday activities.
This can look very different across the three rooms but the tamariki are all developing and refining pre literacy and numeracy skills that will continue as they move off to school. Alongside the physical skills for school, we really focus on growing their independence and social skills that will also be needed at school. Fine motor skills are developed through squeezing playdough, hammering and using brushes.Tamariki explore mathematical concepts daily; colours, sorting and matching through a wide range of activities.
Tamariki are encouraged to lead their own learning, make their own choices and make new discoveries either individually or alongside others. Kaiako provide a rich learning environment full of activities to inspire and delight the tamariki whilst supporting their learning.
