Beach in our Backyard
We love to get out and explore regularly, talking the tamariki for walks to the beach. We have such an amazing time and the children become so busy exploring what our natural environment has to offer. Our tamariki collected their favourite shells to bring back to the centre to use as natural loose parts resources. This is such a great opportunity to get the children out into the community, making sense of the world around them. They enjoyed feeling all the different sensory areas of the beach - especially the sand. Our tamariki have shown quite an interest in looking after our environment, each time we go to the beach we collect as much rubbish and recycling as we can to keep our beach clean. We love sharing stories and coming up with new ideas and ways on how we can work together to look after our environment and community.
