Out and About in our Community
Out and About in our Community A group of Tamariki had the opportunity to explore our local community today.
We walked down to visit the local Cashmere Gallery Florist to view their Easter celebration window. The tamariki where very excited to see some baby chicks that were less than a week old! Along the way we chatted about what we saw, the weather and also waved to a police car who flashed their lights on.
On our walk, the children got to see lots of different things that are in our community. We are very lucky to have such beautiful nature around us as we walked past a river surround by trees. The children noticed the difference in the colour of the leaves as we head in to Autumn.
When we arrived at the florist, we were excited to see the baby chicks and talk about Easter. We had a fun time watching these cheeky chicks as they put on a show for us. We love getting around our community and the new experiences this gives the children.
This excursion is linked to our Te Whariki learning outcome of making connections between people, places and things in our world, Te Waihanga Hononga.
