Best ever holiday fun
School holidays are one of a kind at BestStart Bader with a full range of opportunities for play and learn. Our tamariki brought their favourite cuddle buddies to kindy and participated in a Teddy Bears Picnic, enjoying some of their favourite kai alongside their treasured friends. What better way to spend the day in our comfiest outfit than a PJ Day?! Tamariki surprised us all by showing off their favourite onesies and matching pajamas, and parents loved the quick outfit choice for another fun day at kindy.
We were very thankful to have one of our whanau visit and demonstrate the art of flax weaving with our tamariki. Children each created their own beautifully crafted flax flowers, just one more reason to appreciate the beauty of Papatuanuku. Amongst the arts, we constructed an obstacle course to challenge our children’s physical abilities, cheering them on one by one. After a day full of physical fun, tamariki and Kaiako settled down to participate in some relaxing messy play. Our pepi worked with giant ice blocks, gloop made from cornflour and slime using sago, enjoying the feel and taste of their sensory-based activities. Toddlers and preschool enjoyed their messy play day by exploring their own gloop and foam, using droppers to create their own fluffy rainbow!
BestStart Bader encourages tamariki to be expressive and creative throughout a range of learning opportunities, and work alongside others to strengthen their social skills and understanding of play. These experiences support children’s ability to recognise their own and others’ interests and try new things with friends. We are always searching for new ways to introduce fun learning to our tamariki and encourage participation so tamariki get the best out of every experience.
