Between the dates of Monday 24th and Friday the 28th of March, BestStart Marne Street took part in celebrating Plunket week in a range of fundraisers and fun activities.
In the foyer were three ways for parents to engage in the fundraisers.
- "Slime the teacher jars": Tamariki and whanau put money into the jar belonging to the teacher they want to be slimed! At the end of the week the teachers who raised the most amount from each classroom, was slimed!
2. How many jelly beans are in the jar? Families were able to guess how many jelly beans were in the jar with a coin donation and the closest guess won a prize.
3. The teacher's baby photos were displayed on the wall for families to guess who they were with a gold coin donation. The winner won a prize.
4. We enjoyed a bikeathon when children bought in their bikes and sponsorships to ride laps around the car park.
5. We hosted a drive-in movie night where families could design a car out of boxes, for their child to sit in and watch a movie with a picnic dinner.
6. Slime the kaiako day!
All in all, we had a very successful week raising money for a good cause, enjoying family time, and having a laugh.
