BestStart Ascot Avenue visits the Library
Being a part of our community is something that we are proud of and like to continually improve on. We like to take time to enjoy the lovely environment that we are in and to also teach our tamariki about how we can positively contribute and be a part of this community. We have started having our excursions and trips again now that we can do so safely. We have been going to the nearby library on a regular basis. We walk with our tamariki, and on the way, we learn about the things that we see and we further research the things that we are curious about.
These trips to the library not only support their literacy but also their curiosity and mind for learning. We learn about numbers and house numbers on the way while strengthening our stamina and muscles on the walk. We also learnt about the different interests of one another and were able to take some of those books home, learning about borrowing, and respecting resources. The tamariki have been so excited to share these books with their peers at home, it is such a wonderful sight to see! Libraries are magical and can have so much learning involved. When was the last time you visited one, I wonder?
