Kia ora! I am, Lauren, the head teacher in the nursery. I'm proud to hold a degree of 'Bachelor of Teaching and learning ECE' alongside 6 year's teaching experience. I am passionate about providing safe, fun and positive learning experiences to support children to learn and grow as the beautiful individuals they are. Teaching our littlest tamariki is my passion! it brings me joy each day, I feel so lucky to have the best job in the world! I live to be a teacher and a mummy to my daughter's Brynlee and Rosalie. 

Kia ora whanau! My name is Paula, I started teaching at beststart Halswell road in January 2022.I graduated in 1999 with a "Diploma of Care and Education of Under Fives" from the National Nursery Examination Board (UK), and a "Diploma in Early Childhood Education" (NZ). Since then, I've become a very busy mum of 4, with dogs, cats, fish, chickens, and budgies! As a family we enjoy seeing our lovely country in our caravan and chilling out at home. I adore working with under 2's, to see how their little brains develop and make sense of their world is just astounding. 

Kia ora! I'm Jacquie, I started working at Halswell Road in February 2023 after spending a year as a relief teacher in Christchurch. I was originally Primary trained (Bachelor of Teaching- Early Childhood/Primary - Uni of Tasmania 2005) I also hold a Bachelor of Arts (Double Major Psychology/ Major Sociology). Before working in Primary Schools in Australia, as an ESL teacher in Brasil and then in a preschool in Australia before becoming a mum. I recently completed the Teacher Education Refresh - Early Childhood, so I'm up to date with the latest ways of doing things in ECE in New Zealand Aotearoa. I was a stay at home mum to my son Alex for several years before returning to my passion of working in Early Childhood. I'm also passionate about the benefits of musical experiences in the early years. In my spare time my family and I love to explore New Zealand and enjoy being active and outdoors, running, cycling and playing sports.
