Te Rūma Rākau takes an adventure walk out in the local community to watch the Americarna cars in a convoy. Before the event, tamariki prepared and made their own flags to wave to the cars passing by.

We had a big walk to get to our destination and got lots of toots on along the way, but the real excitement started when we arrived up by the racecourse and got to sit and see the cars leaving in their convoy. We called out "Hiiiii" and waved our flags as they went past and received lots of toots, engine revs and waves back, one car even did a dance for us as it had hydraulics which was amazing to watch and a highlight of the trip for many tamariki

During this walk Tamariki showed Maia/ confidence and mahi tahi/cooperation through Tuakana teina relationships as they walked and looked out for one another. While on our walk we were able to make connecting links between people, places and events within our local community and many conversations were had along the way, even some singing on the way back.
