Over the holidays we've been participating in a wide range of activities. Our most enjoyed activity was our big trip to the zoo. For this trip, the tamariki had the chance to have a ride on a bus to get to the zoo. This was extremely exciting as most of our tamariki have not been on a bus before. We then got to the zoo and the tamariki were so excited to go for a walk to see all their favourite animals. We saw monkeys, giraffes,  rhinos, tigers and more! While at the zoo, we also had a picnic lunch which was also rather exciting. This trip to the zoo has given our tamariki the opportunity to see their favourite animals in real life and supports them to gain a wider understanding of animals. Since the trip, the tamariki have been exploring different ways they can implement their newly found knowledge of the animals at the zoo into their play. This is mainly done through art and imaginary play.
