BestStart Silverdale is Now Open!

Yesterday marked a special occasion as our first day welcoming children and Whānau at BestStart Silverdale. 

It was a dawn start as all our Kaiako gathered for the blessing at our new centre. We were honoured to have Paora Puru bless the building, he performed a karakia and walked through the centre blessing all the rooms, allowing the spirits of the past to guide and protect and to give the centre positive energy.  We all came together in the reception area where the kaiako sang a waiata. 

Finally, we were invited to hongi and share kai together which completed the process of connecting the spiritual world to our physical world.  This was a moving experience and a fitting way for us to enter our new centre and begin our BestStart journey.
