Big Heart Day at BestStart Manurewa Central
BestStart Manurewa Central held a Big Heart Day to help the Heart Foundation fight New Zealand’s single biggest killer – heart disease.
It was a marvelous day that was enjoyed by everyone with lots of fun and outstanding educational learning.
We held a RED dress up day for children and teachers. Children harvested vegetables from the centre garden that they have nurtured from seed as part of their learning. Those vegetables were used to make muffins using the recipe which was shared by the Heart Foundation.
The centre inspired their families and children to eat healthy food, taught about health and well being /Hauora and integrated physical play on that day. Our families donated Gold coin which will go towards the Heart Foundation.
