Biking with Cath
Here at Beststart Totara we have a great relationship with our local "bike lady", Cath from Kids Bike Taupo. Our bike days are always such a highly anticipated time of the month and the enthuism and passion from Cath is second to none.
Her mission is none other than to get our tamariki on bikes and gain the confidence to do so. As this is treated as an excursion, our tamariki have the space of all our carpark out the front of the building. 8 of our children cycled independently today which is absolutely amazing and a proud achievement.
For our Taupo community, Cath offers sessions outside of hours to allow the children to further their development. You will find Cath: Mondays- At the BMX track, 119 Taharepa Road Tuesdays- Craters MTB park, Wairakei drive Thursdays- Crown park, behind Tauhara Primary school, opposite the Miro street intersection. Each of these locations, Cath is there from 3.30-5pm and has her van of bikes with her. So feel free to go and have a go.
Learning to ride a bike supports our children to gain confidence, independence and sets them up to promote healthy active lifestyle decisions. It is also a life long skill that will remain with them forever.
