Blue Bear Hug Appeal
BestStart North Road were very busy throughout Plunket Blue Bear Hug week. Our centre held a duck race where parents/whanau and kaiako sold raffles throughout the week in order to win some cool prizes that were donated to us by our centre whanau and local community businesses.
We had the duck race at a local playground on the Friday as well as a Blue dress up day to celebrate our successes and the wonderful week we had. For the duck race we used blue slime to race the ducks down a tarpaulin that lay down a hill. We also raffled off two netballs that were signed by some of our local Southern Steel netball players who had visited our centre the previous week.
Our local Plunket donated some key rings to sell with tamariki photo’s in them for a gold coin donation. Our grand total raised for Plunket was … $933!!!!
