We are so lucky here at BestStart Parton Road to have such amazing parents that want to get involved.  Jack’s dad, Jared, brought in some bird houses that needed constructing, which meant our little hands in rūma Pohutukawa room needed to put them together. Everyone was curious about the resources that Jared brought and shared their carpentry experience with each other.

Jared helped everyone build their house, supporting and encouraging the children to make the houses by themselves. Everyone showed their interests, patience and concentration to their building work, which was a great opportunity to experience something new.

After house building, Jared also led our tamariki to decorate their bird houses. This was one of the best parts that extended on their creativity. We think these could be the best bird houses ever!

Thank you to Jared, for bringing our tamariki this fabulous experience and spending your free time with us. It was such a great time! Ka mau te wehi (Awesome)!
