The month of October was again level 3 lockdown. While most of the children stayed home, we continued to support their learning by posting activities on storypark and having online zoom sessions.

The highlight of the month was Fijian Language Week and Niuean Language week. Children who were in the centre were engaged in a variety of activities which included learning simple words and phrases, creative art, dress ups, music and movement along with exploring different artefacts. In addition to this, our tamariki were also encouraged to use loose parts in their play. They used these pieces and were able to develop their confidence in creativity, communication and independence. The learning continued with Earthquake, Tsunami and lockdown drill which created more awareness amongst the children on how they could keep themselves safe in case of emergency.
