At Home of the Brave, the ngaa Tamariki love dramatic play. Today they pretended to be doctors looking after the dolls. They examined them by taking the dolls' temperature and checking their ears and mouths, they put bandages where needed, and they shared the play materials as well as their ideas and space.

They were able to recall their visits to the doctors and shared their experiences. They were very focused and engaged in the play. The ngaa Tamariki had an experience of what is it like to be in a doctor's shoes. The ngaa Tamariki had lots of fun learning experiences. The ngaa Tamariki learn to show empathy and explore their feelings while interacting with others. This allowed the ngaa Tamariki to act out and make sense of real-life situations. They had the opportunity to explore, investigate and experiment during this play.

This play helped the ngaa Tamariki to develop their social skills as they collaborate with each other. The ngaa Tamariki were able to develop their communication and language skills. The ngaa Tamariki were motivated to communicate their wishes to their peers and therefore learn to speak from the perspective of their pretend roles. Well done to all of our little Doctors.
